                    Tours everyday to the

Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument

MONUMENT MOUNTAIN TOUR

4 1/2 Hours

$111.40 pp includes all fees and lunch

Experience the Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument in all its ancient splendor. This 1.9 million acre Monument was dedicated in 1996 by President Bill Clinton, Vice President Al Gore, and movie star Robert Redford.  The Staircase is a  sequence of cliffs and plateaus rising in succession, one after another, reaching 5500 feet high in places, from Lake Powell to Bryce Canyon National Monument.  Massive layers of multi-hued shale, sandstone and limestone span over 200 million years of geologic history.  We journey through the past on the Monument Mountain tour by exploring one of the few locations in the World of exposed layers of ancient rocks where dinosaurs roamed and were found with giant marine reptiles in the same area. Actually on the shores of an ancient inland sea bed where both giant sea creatures met giant dinosaurs. You will ride through these ancient layers, and be able to touch them, in our 4 wheel drive air conditioned vehicles with experienced guides, as you take a ride back into millions and millions of years ago. You feel like an explorer riding back into time. So wear your explorer outfits, hot in summer and cool in winter, have comfortable shoes if you want to explore on foot. Bring water, we have lots of extra water to carry with us. Bring snacks and get ready for the ride of your life. To the Moon, which is tropic shale or ocean sediment, and massive rocks by the past Plesiosaur digs, a giant sea reptile from the Jurassic Period, loaded with shark teeth everywhere, to Smokey Hollow and in through to the ancient steaming vents of the Coal Pits to the top of Rachel's Knoll overlooking Lake Powell and lunch on us. We always have fun during the awesome ride back down the rocky switchbacks from Rachel's Knoll. Lunch will be your choice of sandwich fixings with chips and fruit and cookies. Bring some water, we supply extra water, or you can buy bottled Sedona Spring water at our tour office. Check out our Gift Shop for that special present or piece of authentic Navajo jewelry. And... don't forget that camera!

HIDDEN RIVER TOUR

$88.90 pp includes all fees

Ride through the pristine desert wilderness near the edge of cliffs 1,000 ft. high along this major tributary between Lake Powell and the Grand Canyon. The steep canyons and vast walls of red rock beauty create a fabulous backdrop for this mineral filled river. At approximately 75 miles long, the Paria River is unique to all rivers. A great portion of it flows underground or hidden, which is why our tour to the top of the Paria River Overlook lets us view its rare exposed flow, which we see beneath us as it joins the Colorado River at Lee's Ferry. Our tour takes you through sand and rock on an unpaved road with a great opportunity to view antelope, Big Horn sheep, California condors,  and several species of hawks and eagles. So, dress casually, with camera in hand and don't worry about extensive hiking because this tour offers awesome viewing and photographic opportunities a few steps away from our 4-wheel drive vehicles. Hot in summer and cool in winter. Have your comfortable walking shoes if you want to explore on foot. Bring some snacks and water, we supply extra water, or you can buy bottled Sedona Spring water at our tour office. Check out our Gift Shop for that special present or piece of authentic Navajo jewelry.
